The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft "Definitions of Managed Objects for the Fourth Version of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP-4)" as a Draft Standard. This document is the product of the Inter-Domain Routing Working Group. The IESG contact person is Joel Halpern. "Acee Lindem implemented the GateD bgp-4 mib for the Route-66 code/Advantis work. Al Rubens has placed in this the the GateD-Unicast product code. We'll be releasing this code to the field within this month. The implemenetation was completed 6-9 months ago and this movement by Merit staff is only moving the code base into the current GateD platform. The GateD code will be available to the wider Internet Research Community under a GateD membership (Academic and Research community membership for those wishing to review it) without fee. However, it's not exactly public domain code. With Cisco's implementation, I think this means you have a good basis on which to forward the MIB on to the next step."
