David Harrington is a Standards Manager in the Office of the CTO at HuaweiSymantec, a joint venture between Huawei and Symantec that produces security appliances and storage devices. He is Area Director for the Transport area. He has been active in IETF and NMRG since the early 1990s. He was active in the MIB Doctors, Security, Operations, SIRS, and DILBERT directorates, and Technical Advisor to sipclf, capwap, and midcom working groups. He was MIB Technnical Advisor for IEEE 802.1, and coordinated the transfer of responsibility for BRIDGE MIB modules from IETF to IEEE. He chaired SNMPv3, snmpconf, syslog, bridge, and netmod working groups. He has authored or actively contributed to more than 65 RFCs, most related to securing network management.
