Magnus Westerlund, Transport Area
Magnus Westerlund is a researcher at Ericsson Research in Stockholm, Sweden. Magnus has worked on a number of projects related to real-time media transport and application signaling. He has been active in IETF for a number of years and served as Audio/Video Transport (AVT) working group chair for 3 years before becoming Transport Area Director and chair of the transport working group (TSVWG). He has co-authored RTP payload formats for AMR, AMR-WB, AMR-WB+, G.719 and H.264, and the RTP extension for codec control messages, and an SDP extension. He is still an active technical contributor in the AVT and MMUSIC WG working on for example an update of the Real-time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) and NAT traversal solution for RTSP; He has also been participating in 3GPP contributing to the Packet-switched Streaming Service (PSS) and the Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service (MBMS) specifications. Magnus has a Master of Science in Computer Science from LuleƄ University of Technology.
