Peter Saint-Andre, Applications Area
Peter
Saint-Andre is currently co-director of the IETF Applications Area and also has served as Executive Director
of the XMPP Standards Foundation since 2002. He is the author or co-author of over a dozen RFCs, and of "XMPP: The Definitive Guide" (O'Reilly, 2009). Since 1999 his
areas of focus have included instant messaging, presence, real-time collaboration, and application security.
Peter received a bachelor's degree in philosophy and ancient Greek from Columbia University and works in the
Collaboration Software Group at Cisco Systems, Inc.
