Tim Polk is a Computer Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Tim has been at NIST since 1982, and joined the Computer Security Division in 1988. His work has focused on cryptographic security mechanisms since 1994, with an emphasis on PKI standardization and deployment. Tim contributed to the development of several IETF PKI standards and was co-author of RFCs 2459, 2528, 3039, 3279, and 3280. Tim is also co-author of the book “Planning for PKI”. He has degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland.
