The IESG approved publication of PPP over SONET/SDH <draft-ietf-pppext-pppoversonet-update-04.txt> as a Proposed Standard. Steve to send announcement. 3. The IESG approved publication of the following documents as Proposed Standards: Cryptographic Message Syntax <draft-ietf-smime-cms-13.txt> Diffie-Hellman Key Agreement Method <draft-ietf-smime-x942-07.txt> S/MIME Version 3 Certificate Handling <draft-ietf-smime-cert-08.txt> S/MIME Version 3 Message Specification <draft-ietf-smime-msg-08.txt> Enhanced Security Services for S/MIME <draft-ietf-smime-ess-12.txt> Steve to send announcement. 4. The IESG approved publication of NFS Version 4 Design Considerations <draft-ietf-nfsv4-designconsider-03.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement. 5. The IESG approved creation of the Web Elucidation of Internet- Related Developments (weird) Working Group. Steve to send announcement. 6. The IESG tentatively approved publication of IP Network Address Translator (NAT) Terminology and Considerations <draft-ietf-nat-terminology-02.txt> as an Informational RFC. Some wanted more time to review and possibly request textual changes. This was met with some resistance, but the IESG did instruct Steve to wait for comments until Monday, May 10 with the understanding that the comments that will be accepted must propose specific text and that the proposed text be non-destructive to the intentions of the NAT Working Group that produced the document. If no such comments are received, Steve can send the announcement. If text is proposed that meets the criteria, Vern will consolodate and convey to the document authors. 7. The IESG approved publication of Internet Printing Protocol/1.0: Implementer's Guide <draft-ietf-ipp-implementers-guide-01.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement. 8. The IESG approved publication of Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) <draft-ietf-pppext-pptp-10.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement once Thomas provides text to be included as an IESG Note when the document is published. Once received, Steve to send announcement. 9. The IESG approved publication of DON'T SPEW: A Set of Guidelines for Mass Unsolicited Mailings and Postings (spam*) <draft-ietf-run-spew-08.txt> as an Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement. 10. Patrik has asked the URLREG Working Group to review The "eid" URL Scheme <draft-finseth-url-00.txt> prior to making any decision with respect to publication. Steve to notify the RFC Editor. 11. The IESG deferred action on KeyNote Trust-Management System - Version 2 <draft-blaze-ietf-trustmgt-keynote-01.txt>. Randy volunteered to act as primary AD for this document, and requested a Security review of the document. Steve to request an extension from the RFC Editor. 12. Patrik asked the asid email list to review Definition of the inetOrgPerson LDAP Object Class <draft-smith-ldap-inetorgperson-03.txt>. Steve to request extension from the RFC Editor. 13. The IESG discussed the concept of Working Groups producing documents in tandem with other standards organization groups, specifically the XMLDSIG [Proposed] Working Group working with the W3C, and the MEGACO Working Group with ITU's Study Group 16. While there were concerns and potential issues raised on the mechanics of how these groups will co-function, the IESG consensus was to move forward on both efforts, but with eyes WIDE open.
