    1. The minutes of the November 1 Teleconference and the the November
    15 teleconference were approved. Steve to place in public archives.

    2. Subsequent to the November 15 telechat, the IESG approved Instance
    Digests in HTTP <draft-mogul-http-digest-05.txt> as a Proposed
    Standard. Steve sent the announcement on November 19, 2001.

    3. The IESG approved Vendor Extensions for Service Location Protocol,
    Version 2' <draft-guttman-svrloc-vendor-ext-07.txt> as a Proposed
    Standard late in October 2001. The announcement was posted on
    November 26.

    4. The IESG welcomed Bill Fenner, who is now a co-area director for
    the Routing Area.

    5. The IESG approved publication of SMTP Service Extension for Secure
    SMTP over TLS <draft-hoffman-rfc2487bis-06.txt> as a Proposed
    Standard. Steve to send announcement.

    6. The IESG tentatively approved publication of the following
    Internet-Drafts as Proposed Standards:

    o Internet X.509 Public Key Infrastructure Certificate and CRL
    Profile <draft-ietf-pkix-new-part1-11.txt>
    o Algorithms and Identifiers for the Internet X.509 Public Key
    Infrastructure Certificate and CRI Profile
    <draft-ietf-pkix-ipki-pkalgs-05.txt>

    When draft-ietf-pkix-new-part1-12 is available for review, Harald
    will review and let Steve know when to send announcement.

    7. The IESG approved publication of IANA Considerations for IGMP
    <draft-ietf-magma-igmp-iana-01.txt> as a BCP. Steve to send
    announcement.

    8. The IESG approved publication of Remote Network Monitoring
    Management Information Base for High Capacity Networks
    <draft-ietf-rmonmib-hcrmon-10.txt> as a Proposed Standard. Steve to
    send announcement.

    9. The IESG approved creation of the Protocol for carrying
    Authentication for Network Access (pana) Working Group in the
    Internet Area. Steve to set up and announce.

    10. The IESG approved creation of the Next Steps in Signaling (nsis)
    Working Group in the Transport Area. Steve to set up and announce.

    11. The IESG approved publication of Internet Printing Protocol
    (IPP):Requirements for Job, Printer, and Device Administrative
    Operations <draft-ietf-ipp-ops-admin-req-01.txt> as an
    Informational RFC. Steve to send announcement.

    12. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Middleboxes:
    taxonomy and issues <draft-carpenter-midtax-03.txt> as an
    Informational RFC. Steve to convey to RFC Editor.

    13. The IESG had no problem with the publication of Overview and
    Principles of Internet Traffic Engineering
    <draft-ietf-tewg-principles-02.txt> as an Informational RFC. Bert
    to provide text for a note to the RFC Editor. Once received, Steve
    will include in message he sends to RFC Editor.

    14. The IESG tentatively approved publication of Requirements for
    Reliable Server <draft-ietf-rserpool-reqts-03.txt> as an
    Informational RFC. As some wanted a little more time to review,
    Steve to wait one week. If no concerns or issues are raised, Steve
    will send announcement.

    15. Joyce and Steve to work on a single policy statement on normative
    and non-normative references in RFCs and Internet-Drafts.

    16. Now that he has a teleconference under his wings, Bill to check
    with the IDR WG to determine if the proposed revisions to the
    charter has been seen by the WG and if there are any questions or
    problems. Once this is confirmed, Steve will update the IDR WG
    database information.

    17. Randy volunteered and was accepted as an assistant Routing Area
    Director. Harald to draft announcement.

    18. The IESG discussed what to do when I-D authors modify the
    boilerplate text to get around the default process. The following
    process was suggested:

    o someone notices a possible violation
    o they bring it to an AD's attention
    o AD sponsors the objection
    o the IESG discusses it
    o if the IESG thinks it is indeed bad, the Secretariat pulls the
    document

    19. Approval of RFC2741, Agent Extensibility (AgentX) Protocol, and
    RFC2742, Definitions of Managed Objects for Extensible SNMP Agents,
    as Draft Standards was deferred.

    20. The IESG did not approved publication of Advice to link designers
    on link Automatic Repeat reQues (ARQ)
    <draft-ietf-pilc-link-arq-issues-03.txt> as a BCP.

    21. The IESG did not approved publication of Using SOAP in BEEP
    <draft-etal-beep-soap-05.txt> as a Proposed Standard.

    22. Nor did the IESG approve publication of the APEX docs:
    o The Application Exchange Core <draft-ietf-apex-core-05.txt>
    o The APEX Access Service <draft-ietf-apex-access-07.txt>
    o The APEX Presence Service <draft-ietf-apex-presence-05.txt>
    o The APEX Option Party Pack, Part Deux!
    <draft-ietf-apex-party-04.txt>

    The consensus was detailed analysis of design & architectural issues
    (normalization & security) is necessary.

    23. The IESG did NOT approve publication of iSCSI Requirements and
    Design Considerations <draft-ietf-ips-iscsi-reqmts-05.txt> as an
    Informational RFC. An update is required.

    24. IPsec Remote Access Scenario <draft-ietf-ipsra-reqmts-04.txt> is to
    be returned to the WG to respond/address issues raised.
