The following errata report has been submitted for RFC5121,
"Transmission of IPv6 via the IPv6 Convergence Sublayer over IEEE 802.16 Networks".
--------------------------------------
You may review the report below and at:
http://www.rfc-editor.org/errata_search.php?rfc=5121&eid=1768
--------------------------------------
Type: Technical
Reported by: Daan Pareit <daan.pareit at intec.ugent.be>
Section: 6.3
Original Text
-------------
The Len parameter has a size of 11 bits. Hence, the total MAC PDU size is 2048 bytes.
Corrected Text
--------------
The Len parameter has a size of 11 bits. Hence, the total MAC PDU size is 2047 bytes.
Notes
-----
There are 11 bits for indicating the size of the MAC PDU, thus according to me this indicates a maximum size of (binary) 111 1111 1111, which equals (decimal) 2047 (2**11 - 1).
The maximum of 2047 is also cited in the book "Fundamentals of WiMAX" by Jeffrey G. Andrews, Arunabha Ghosh and Rias Muhamed on page 48: "The maximum frame length is 2,047 bytes, which is represented by 11 bits in the GMH."
Kind regards,
