Just one comment on modifying existing stack implementations:

Is there no reason a small shim can't be put in-between the existing
implementation and the 802.15.4 side?

By this I mean basically doing the proxy-ND we have talked about before.
Hence if a NS is supposed to be sent over the air, it can internally decide
if the device exists or not on the lowpan.

I haven't followed all the discussions of past - so I suspect this may have
already been addressed! But a quick description or link to this would be
greatly appreciated.
