Thanks for your reply. A small additional comment, and then I guess we
can close this topic :-)
[Carsten] As has been mentioned a couple of times, 6lowpan-ND can be
(and has
been) implemented as an adaptation layer, satisfying any ND layer that
cannot be mapped out of the OS architecture and keeping it ignorant of
the actual nature of the link; since 6lowpan-ND only modifies/replaces a
couple of 4861's messages, that's almost a bit like header compression.
[Mathilde] I guess for me an adaptation layer should not intercept
messages or generate new messages. This is why I think the philosophy of
header compression and 6lowpan-ND is very different.
