I don't think so. Reality shows the opposite, at least in my mailbox, 
there's more and more spam.

And I doubt it will becom uneconomical. Maybe you can lower the earnings
(what I also doubt, but just let's assume you could), it doesn't
become uneconomical, because spammer's costs are sinking
dramatically. 

Compare today's costs of having a plain PC connected to a flat rate
leased line with the costs 3 years ago and the estimated costs in
3 years. Do you believe it will be possible to lower the earnings faster
than the costs?
