Mapping from name to address to route is, of course, at the heart of the
Internet's modern architecture.
However the approach of authorizing an MTA by a message author make
information that is usually highly transient -- the hop-by-hop IP
address selection -- instead be highly fixed.
The set of mechanisms surrounding this approach have no precedent in
large scale networking operation. Further, that set of mechanisms has
components that are wildly out of balance with the demands of the
service.

The interesting question is whether they have addressed them
sufficiently to produce a service that has both long-term utility and
long-term operational viability.
