But the 'consented to receive it' does NOT apply (from my own experience with spam) to the vast majority I get. Viagra and various-body-part-enhacement ads, various (most likely) illegal narcotic sites, porn spam, etc..


I have no idea how I got on some of these things. No doubt some were that I signed up to receive mail from ONE site/company, and they sold the address to a list that a porn company uses. That is a loophole that I think should be made illegal, or at least have a mandatory opt-out/in provision attached ("Can my email be sold").
