Re: BCP suggestion, port 25 control RE: [Asrg] BCP suggestion: port-b locking by ISPs

As I remember, Caesar in "The Gallic Wars" boasts about how he figured
out to have soldiers lock shields to form a barrier and then behind
that others would build a dirt slope going up and over the wall.

There's a lesson in there somewhere.

Of course. That the ASRG should take out 'banner' ads all over the internet, that just happen to have attached JS code that will try to use the same holes in Windows the spam-bots use to patch them.

I've sometime wondered about that - would it be possible to use viruses to fight viruses? AI would have to get better first though, for the polymorphic viruses, and then we'd *really* have a virus arms race on our hands.

Aside (partly): I've gotten some 'bounce emails' that basically say:

subject: want clot flow
(Imformation.### removed due to detected virus)

Does this message mean a great deal to me? NO! Then why can't the MTA that was smart enough to delete the virus, also be smart enough to realize that there was NOTHING else in it, and just chuck it? Saves my email box, and every MTA-relay after that one on the way to mine.

Jim
