RE: [Asrg] ISP rules to be enforced by UK regulator
I remembered this from a few years back
(http://www.isp-planet.com/news/2002/vanquish_020906.html). Always seemed
like a good idea, but haven't heard anything since. Anyone know what
happened?

Depends, VeriSign already offers DDoS proof DNS services, but that does not
help if they DDoS the Web site and that is an area where solutions tend to
get expensive.

Requiring an ISP to charge a customer despite providing no service to them
is not going to make it with the courts.
In this case the idea is that the ISPs be required to impose what amounts to
a fine on the spammer. That is a real bad idea that the courts tend to
regard as their exclusive perogative.
