Following up on myself - I'm using Gmail today, and every time I see a
new message in this thread it shows me a link to yet another re-hash
of this story in another industry journal - today's one is at

First para:

"September 8, 2004 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- Spammers and
phishers are using the Sender Protection Framework in greater numbers
to further proliferate spam, industry analysts say, a worrisome
development *considering SPF was designed in the first place to
prevent spam*. "

Sigh.

I'm currently discussing this with an analyst at CipherTrust, who are
keen not to be mis-represented but have little control over what the
press actually pick up from their PR of course.
