What Magnus says is true. But in addition, I have submitted updated
drafts rtp-new-12 and profile-new-13 as the means to convey the
clarifications to the IESG and the RFC Editor. I did this after
receiving permission from our AD, Allison Mankin, since normally a
draft should not be updated after it is reviewed and approved by the
IESG. The clarifications we have discussed are substantial enough,
especially when combined with the things I fixed to comply with the
ID-nits requirements (like fixing two spaces at the end of sentences,
and changing the order of some of the sections) that I decided trying
to convey all of that to the RFC Editor in the form of edit notes to
be applied to the previous drafts would not be efficient, effective,
or pleasant. I am preparing a set of files for the IESG to explain
the significant clarifications and to make it easy to verify that the
other changes are insignificant.
Having refreshed expiration dates should also help folks like Bala who
have been concerned and asked about it.
The new drafts will work their way through the I-D administrator's
queue. In the meantime, you can get them at:
