[AVT] ATRAC-X pre-presentation summary
(apologies for those who already received this; mistyped initial
address)
Hello all,
Summary of issues that will be covered during my ATRAC-X presentation
update:
Clarifications and Additions:
- Timestamp and sample rate clarification
- Redundant data framework modified
- New method for multi-channel data decomposition introduced
- Multiplexing/QoS reasoning solidified
Time Stamp
- corresponds to presentation time in milliseconds
Sample Rate
- all ATRAC-X streams during single session must be identical
Revision of Redundant Data Framework
- Comment from Atlanta session : "For redundancy to be useful the
redundant copy may need to be separated further than one slot."
- TimeStampeOffset added: 14bit unsigned offset value
- What's wrong with RFC 2198?
- RFC 2198 requires payload headers for primary and redundant data;
creates unnecessary overhead
- Block length field defined at 10bits; insufficient for ATRAC-X's high
bit-rate data
- Creates complexity in managing ATRAC-X's fragmentation data framework
Multi-channel decomposition
- Introduction of Block Coupling Pattern (BCP); 5bits
- Introduction of Total Channel Configuration (TCC); 3 bits
(table/figure to be presented; also in draft)
Further examples and and figures to be presented.
Looking forward to it.
Matt
