RE: [AVT] Update (-09) of Timed Tex draft (WAS: RE: Commentsondraft-ietf-avt-rtp-3gpp-timed-text-08.txt)

"TYPE 5 units are an exception: though time stamps are meaningless for TYPE 5 units, TYPE 5 units receive their time stamp from the RTP packet carrying the most recent text sample data received prior to the sample description. The TYPE 5 unit conveys a sample description that may be used by many samples, and is removed from the play-out buffer upon reception in time stamp order. Typically, a sample description conveyed in a TYPE 5 packet should not be referenced by a unit with an earlier timestamp, unless the sample description is currently in use and included for random access purposes."
We are loosing focus here. I understand your arguments above, but we must adapt the format to the RTP transmission, that's all. I am not sure the text above answers my questions below. Are you are saying that:
1) it is the server should provide for SDs to be sent in such a way that they are available when needed and,
2) if the SD is not there is not that severe so that decoders may do without ?
If both are true, then we could keep it as is .
Looking forward to your comments!
José
