[AVT] draft-somogyi-sdp-amr-bicc-like-00.txt

Hi,

I created a new draft, which is an update to RFC 4867. It is about extending SDP format defined for Adaptive Multi-Rate (AMR) codecs.
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-somogyi-sdp-amr-bicc-like-00.txt

The reason for writing this draft is detailed in the draft itself. In a nutshell 2G/3G mobile devices and switching systems have such AMR codec parameters, which cannot be properly presented in SDP. Those parameters are rather important for call setup phase and mid-call codec negotiation. Proper codec negotiation could result in much improved voice quality as well as DSP resource savings.

The idea is rather simple. Have new codec parameters descrbing the same things for AMR codecs that are presented on BICC, MEGACO, RANAP, MAP and other interfaces. If the new parameters are present, codec negotiation could be improved.

The draft is written in very 3GPP-centric manner. But it is generic enough to be applicable to any SDP-using systems. That is why it is primarily submitted to IETF rather than to 3GPP.

I would be happy if you could look at the draft and comment it.
