The UMAC draft has been simplified and was resubmitted in October with 
test vectors. We plan on moving it to an Informational RFC when its 
draft status expires. The draft can be acquired through the IETF or at

UMAC, in many situations, is the fastest fully-developed MAC. But, in 
many other situations, these fast and compact MAC's of Bernstein's may 
be more appropriate. I recommend having a close look at both.
