I was going to try and bring up my ADSL router as an ADSL modem over
USB - it can do both modes. I haven't tested this yet under Linux,
just some other operating system from the USA. The issue will be
whether there is drivers for it.

This will then mean that the Linux box will provide the NAT, not the ADSL box.
