[Dime] Support for Class AVP mandatory in session based apps?

The Class AVP defined in the base Diameter spec allows a server to pass a "cookie" to the client and receive it back in subsequent requests from the client to the server belonging to the same session.

However, a number of applications do not explicitly list the Class AVP in the definition of session-creating answers or in mid-session messages. This is true, for example, for the Credit-Control-Answer in RFC 4006 and for the AA-Answer in 3GPP TS 29.209 (IMS's Gq app). While the Class AVP is not explicitly listed the grammars of both these answers do include *[AVP] so at least according to the grammar it's OK to include the Class AVP.

My question is whether a client that does not honor the Class AVP in these cases can claim to be standards compliant. In my view it would be preferable if support for the Class AVP was required for all session based apps unless possibly if an application explicitly says otherwise (and not just in the grammar).

Thanks,
Anders
