No, it is not a joke.

The corporation known as ICANN is currently paying some of the cost
for the operation of the protocol parameter registries. The other
part of that cost is paid through people volunteering time and
expertise for free.

The relevant information is there for anyone on the internet to
copy. I could be envious and see how much money people from that
corporation are making from that information or it could be my
opinion that it is useful that anyone on the internet can copy it.

>But this is unrelated, maybe we should start from you ;)

Now now, are you asking whether I am well-travelled? :-)

I am one of the Root Zone (DNSSEC) Crypto Officers. I have not and I
still do not derive any direct or indirect material benefit from
that. It could be argued that visiting California (United States) is
an indirect material benefit. I do not mind having that
conversation. :-) Note that the travel is economy class. At the
time of this writing I have not taken any money from ICANN. ICANN
has invited me to several dinners. As the United States Government
is involved in the matter I'll disclose that I am neither a citizen
nor do I reside in the United States.

I do not derive any direct or indirect material benefit from domain
names or IP addresses. My attendance (economy class) to IETF
meetings used to be sponsored by the Internet Society. The only
title I have in the IETF is member of the (IETF) Applications Area Directorate.

I do not mind answering any further questions about my interests.

Regards,
S. Moonesamy
