IMHO:

If people are going to use products intended as enterprise switches or
otherwise not intended for full routing in provider networks they
better know what they are doing.

Some do.  Some don't.  Darwin ... and all that.

Idr should not be adding a hack for small gain in FIB size when better
techniques exist and products already exist with quite a few binary
orders of magnitude headroom.
