I know that X windows version 10 uses TCP port number 5900
and X windows version 11 uses TCP port number 6000. The X
server listens on this port for clients to connect and feed it
window information to be displayed on the output device.

Data General has a distributed IBM SNA package that uses TCP
port 3507 for the server. The server emulates an IBM
controller to which applications can connect using TCP. This
allows IBM 3270 terminal emulators to run on
workstations while the IBM controller emulator runs on a
server with the sync line to the IBM host.
