Well, just don't get paid for anything in Canada. Last time I gave a tutorial
there I needed (a) passport, (b) work permit, available only from the Canadian
Consulate in New York, (c) Canadian social-security (equivalent) card, available
on application, (d) detailed itinerary of times and places for each session,
(e) letter from Canadian sponsor stating no Canadian candidate with required
pedigree was available as replacement and (f) payment of import duty on
presentation aids and workbook materials. Oh, yes, 15% of the gross goes to
Revenue Canada before even Revenue US gets its share. Use the customs booth
on the right and don't hold up the line.
