Let me summarize what's been being said (having been there too):
(1) Tourism and Conferences in Canada are generally a non-issue for US
folks to attend - just don't confuse Provinces with States, and bring
some reasonable ID
(2) Be able to prove that you bought your laptop, camera, or whatever
(over $50) in the US and didn't sell/loan/give it to someone in Canada.
(3) Get paid in the US, in US Dollars.
(4) If you're worried about something else, you're probably overconcerned.
