By way of introduction, I've been working with Greg Clark of DASCOM, Inc., who spoke with the CAT-WG last Monday on the use of CMS (Cryptographic Message Syntax) with Kerberos PK-INIT. I couldn't help but notice, when looking at the upcoming S/MIME Freeware Library, that its CMS APIs bear a striking resemblence to IDUP-GSS-API. Is there any joint work planned between the CAT and S/MIME WGs to make IDUP-GSS-API the standard APIs for generating and consuming CMS messages? David K. Hemsath, IBM Security Architecture
