I believe the IETF Way has always been that organizational affiliation is not
a concern, except when there is a direct question of conflict of interest or
similar problem.  For instance, if I were at an IETF meeting, it would be well
understood that anything I said shouldn't be judged on the fact that I work
at Virginia Tech, but should be judged on whether the listener thinks I
register a non-zero reading[1] on the kloo-meter....

[1] I'm quite sure that all the regular readers of the IETF lists have already
made their judgments on what kloo ratings the regular posters have. Enough said.
