The IESG has approved the Internet-Draft The Use of URLs as Meta-Syntax
for Core Mail List Commands and their Transport through Message Header
Fields <draft-baer-listspec-01.txt> as a Proposed Standard.  This
document is not the product of an IETF Working Group.

The IESG contact persons are Harald Alvestrand and  Keith Moore.

Technical Summary
 
 This document describes one way to alleviate the frustration of
 trying to get on or off a mailing list, by providing a fixed place
 in the message header where information about the mailing list, such
 as how to unsubscribe, can be put in the form of an URL.

Working Group Summary

 This document is not the product of a working group.
 It has been presented at one BOF (Memphis '97), and was favourably
 looked upon there.

 The spec has been reviewed for the IESG by Harald Alvestrand.
