HTTP/1.1 Protocol: Help Needed

Hi,

  I have a situation where the clients do not have cookies enabled and
I have to authenticate through forms.

  Is it possible with current HTTP/1.1 specification?

 As far as I've read it will not be possible. Corerct me if I am wrong.
