Well, you left out my personal favorite: In ASCII:

  'z' - 'a' + 1 = 26

but in EBCDIC:

  'z' - 'a' + 1 = 41

(or something close to that - it has been a while since I had to deal
with EBCDIC.)

With cool properties like this, EBCDIC sure seems like a winner to me...
