we have not heard from Andrew since this discussion began - maybe he is 
off the net - lets not make any assumptions on what he has decided
to do until he tells us

my preference is to take note of the text in RFC 3797 pointed to by
Donald and keep the already selected nomcom

but it would not be the end of the world if Andrew decides
to respin the selection

in any case, this event does indicate that fixing RFC 3777 to follow
the guidance in RFC 3797 is needed
