The problem with the callback variant is that it implies a threadedprocess model (which I don't mind, but which won't be feasible for someimplementors).
It does not require threads, the caller of the cb enabled ISC will have to call the event loop, that in turn will call the callback call.
It does require though that you select one event process system (or threads).
