Picking whatever:  "Case insensitive" is a fundamental concept
in 1766 / 3066 / 4646, and the default for anything you do in
the IETF - the complete ABNF is per default "case insensitive"
(nothing elaborated, only US-ASCII).

Changing that is straight out.  Better try a similar idea with
an extension regitry, e.g. s-whatever for "script variants", or
s-Latn-whatever for "Latn-variants" (etc.)

The "whatever" part does not need its own registry, if anything
folks like to use goes you can say so in the required "s-" RFC.
