That's rather important, e.g. it's not yet mentioned in a new <draft-narten-iana-considerations-rfc2434bis> submitted five days ago. I saw no discussion about it on the XML-dir list.
To clarify, the XML-ization of IANA registries is an _internal_ effort, primarily aimed at allowing us to simplify/automate registry creation and modification. We will take what efforts we can to insure there is no significant change to the "legacy" registries. We will _also_ publish the initial set of XML-ized registries (at different URLs of course) and request comments. Assuming the initial forays into XML-ization are deemed acceptable, we'll publish more. If not (hey, it could happen), we'll not publish more (but we'll still use the XML registries internally).
With Stephane's tip "Apricot" and Google I found a note from you in March about "eIANA", that sounded perfectly harmless, new Web site, new forms, faster, better, enjoy.
As Stephane indicated, eIANA is completely unrelated to the registry XML-ization effort.
Google didn't find what you said in January, but apparently half of the IAB should have known that that's coming, and not a minor issue.
Actually, I believe it is a minor issue (at least from an external perspective).
