I'm wondering if there is a compromise? Specifically I'm wondering if people would consider a no-extlang solution, however allow zh-cmn and zh-yue as a true alias (eg: not grandfathered) of cmn and yue? My suggestion is that this would be limited to only the specific languages known to be a problem. This would have its own set of concerns, however perhaps we could continue from the current draft... Mostly I'm just thinking out loud.
