Ah, but there is no actual (as opposed to apparent) region information
in the grandfathered tag "sgn-US", which encodes only a language --
one in use in the U.S., Canada, Guatemala, and various African nations
among others.  That being the case, it would be improper to supply region
information when deprecating it.
