I do not support any proposal to add wording to draft-4646bis that would 
limit the structure of variant subtags, or restrict what certain 
characters or substrings mean within a variant or how they could be 
used.  In particular, I do not support any additional wording to limit 
the use of 4-digit numbers within variants.

I do have opinions about how 4-digit numbers should be used in variants, 
but this is the responsibility of ietf-languages and the Reviewer, not 
something that should be dictated by the RFC.

We already have too much micromanagement of this sort in the draft. 
Let's finish.
