I agree with Teco. Before continuing this discussion, I think it would be very helpful to write an ETX metrics draft, then to integrate the metrics draft into OLSRv2, and only *then* consider whether to explicitly mention a metric other than hop-count in the OLSRv2 draft (e.g. in the appendix, as suggested), or whether it's enough to set up the code points for different metrics.
