Maybe PHP-IMAP doesn't offer a sort capability.
PHP offers c-client, but AFAICT the popular PHP webmail programs
don't use it. I looked at squirrelmail and roundcube now since those
are often mentioned and I happened to have the source handy: SM uses
some homebrew IMAP code, Roundcube uses something called 'ilohamail
imap library'.
