I could live with 2.

I think 3 and 4 are potentially problematic.  Lots of daemons in the details.  :-)

I strongly oppose both 1 and 5 (if the latter is understood as being
the current s-c proposal)

I could support 5 if it were understood as a re-formulated s-c proposal,
though I do agree with Juergen about the probable presence of icebergs.
