 信号 is originally chinese characters, with meaning of "signal" and 
 it is called "Shinho" in Korea, "Shinhao" in China, and "Shingou" in Japan.

 Shingou seems to be a little local name as if NSIS protocols is only 
 local signal.

 信 (Shin) means "trust (reliable)" and 号(Ho, Hao, or Gou) means "symbol"
 How about Shin + NSIS = Shinsis: Reliable (Next Step In) Signaling?
