I agree that AutoRP deployment on enterprises (especially financial) is
pretty common, but that isn't due to vendor support. Many vendors support
AutoRP. The main reason it is deployed is bc these networks were designed
in 1996, and they don't want to change their design.

Why? Do enterprises prefer more complexity, slower convergence, more
difficulty when troubleshooting?
My impression was that BSR was created to address the shortcomings of
AutoRP, and then Anycast came along and everyone who deployed mcast
since has been using that. Seems like quite alot of work has been put
into something for which there are much better alternatives. Plus, with
Anycast PIM, now you don't even need MSDP.
