[pim] [Fwd: I-D ACTION:draft-mcwalter-pim-bsr-mib-01.txt]

Hi All,

Sometime back BSR MIB was moved out of PIM MIB. Dave created a new
Internet draft to track the BSR MIB. As BSR is moving close to
standardization, we think it is the right time to improve upon BSR MIB.

From the first draft, I have made couple of changes:

* Corrected references in number of objects.
* Removed some of the objects which were not required in BSR MIB.
* Added two new Traps

During PIM MIB review, the tables in this MIB has been extensively
reviewed and so the existing tables looks in pretty good shape. The main
issue which need to be discussed here is the BSR election per zone or
per scope.

Some time back, Dave has sent a mail on pim mailing list to generate
some discussion on this regard and we are still waiting for some
feedback.

We are planning to discuss this with PIM WG in the 66th IETF meeting
at Montreal. If someone has any comments on this MIB before the meeting,
please let us know. I can address those comments and generate another
version of this draft before 26th.

Thanks & Regards,
Bharat

This memo defines a portion of the Management Information Base (MIB)
for use with network management protocols in the Internet community.
In particular, it describes managed objects used for managing the
Bootstrap Router (BSR) mechanism for PIM.

Send a message to:

In the body type:
	"FILE /internet-drafts/draft-mcwalter-pim-bsr-mib-01.txt".

NOTE:	The mail server at ietf.org can return the document in
MIME-encoded form by using the "mpack" utility. To use this
feature, insert the command "ENCODING mime" before the "FILE"
command. To decode the response(s), you will need "munpack" or
a MIME-compliant mail reader. Different MIME-compliant mail readers
exhibit different behavior, especially when dealing with
"multipart" MIME messages (i.e. documents which have been split
up into multiple messages), so check your local documentation on
	how to manipulate these messages.

Below is the data which will enable a MIME compliant mail reader
implementation to automatically retrieve the ASCII version of the
Internet-Draft.
