I understand the intention, but if we can not explain
this simply without reference to another document,
then we can not have a general discussion where
general concepts are agreed to.

I also realize that there would be a desire not to
reinvent the wheel, but Eric has suggested a way of
getting in the same page without pulling in
potentially stale state associated with any given
reference, and I think it is worth a try. We can
always reference the detail later.
