RE: [PWE3] PWE Service interworking

If you're concatenating technologies together for SWIF, then yes the

NIWF does have a better e2e story but as a pure overlay, you're just
keeping the old game alive. Deploying old edge and new core.
Didn't quite get your third comment?

Dave,
How can any customer know whether his path at the "layer" in question
ends on a SIWF or a NIWF?
It seems probable me that a given customer may have several paths
from his CE using exactly the same protocol stack to the PE, and
depending on where and who provides the last PE, may in fact have
some paths terminating on a SIF and some on a NIF, depending a
variety of intervening networks and access networks. What should he
expect the semantics of his OAM to be? I do not think it
reasonable for the customer to know all the technical components in
any or all paths from him to anywhere/everywhere.
Agreed all semantics may not map or be available. That's the price of SIFs.
Cheers
Keith
