When trying to find out the fraction
of transit AS-es I just
used the RIS Statistics Report provided
by RIPE. I didn't
use any script at all. I simply made
a number of calculations
using the last statistics reports and
found 1/6 as the
approximate value. I don't understand
why this value differs
from the one calculated by Ricardo
and Simon. Any clue?.
Therefore I cannot answer your questions
properly. I think
it would be very interesting if we
could have a figure showing
the evolution of this fraction. And
I also suggested that it
is probable that its value would decrease
because of the
number of companies requesting a public
AS number to get
multihomed. This is just a personal
conjecture that I would
like to see contrasted with the real
Internet.
Regards,
Juanjo
