I thought that I'd commented on this, but maybe my e-mail's just going haywire.  Anyway, for the record:

Regarding SCTP compression, I don't think that we should worry about the *future* uses of SCTP, at least not until we've looked at justifications for compressing it now.  After all, if we don't understand the future uses of TCP (for example), doesn't that logic preclude us from ever developing a solution, since it might not useful 'in the future'?!
